Favourite Comfort Show

briannatbriannat Moderator, Staff Posts: 59 Boards Initiate
Hello everyone :) I hope everyone reading this has been able to do something or experience something that made them smile or laugh. Yesterday evening I finished Schitt's Creek for the 2nd time and I was reminded of how comforting this show has been to me ever since I started watching it some years ago. The jokes were hilarious, each character experienced genuine growth, and there was something about watching a family who had lost it all still try their best to cope with what life has in store for them. Now I'm on the search of another comfort show. What's everyone's favourite show to watch? Something you'd watch over and over again and still feel the warmth of spending time with some of your beloved characters <3

Hey @briannat! That's a great question - I've heard good things about Schitt's Creek! I don't watch much TV any more, but Friends was a show that I used to watch a lot, and I still enjoy seeing clips/episodes every now and then! <3

ooo I've also heard good things about Schitt's Creek but haven't watched it myself.

similar to Azziman I don't watch a great deal of TV either, but in terms of comfort shoes that make me smile, i do love Friends and also Derry Girls.

Ooo @briannat I must admit a lot of people have encouraged me to watch Schitt's Creek and I've never properly started it. Your post is making me want to give it a go! <3

For me, I've really loved Young Royals in the past (on Netflix) or Race Across The World (BBC iPlayer) for reality TV.

I also LOVED Anne with an E on Netflix. I fell in love with all the characters so much, and it feels like the perfect, wholesome watch for this time of year too <3

I do love Dirk Gently's Detective Agency because of how quirky and whimsical the show is in general (I do want the second series of it on dvd to be fair). I also love BBC Sherlock so so much because I love solving the mysteries and I do love a good crime drama now and then. I want to start watching the walking dead (even though I know its not really for the faint hearted). I also watched Gotham but I forgot what episode I am on ish so I may have to re-watch all of the first season again and track it because its like five seasons.

oooo i have never seen Schitt's Creek but it is on my list of shows to watch!
I think a couple of my favourite comfort shows have to be modern family or greys anatomy. Although most shows i watch i do end up rewatching because i love getting invested in the characters

The purge Movie series? Because if so yes haha I've seen all of the films. Something terrifying but also intriguing about the whole concept

I need to watch the walking dead so bad because it's on my list of things to watch alongside Breaking Bad. ooh the purge I have heard of that film trilogy, only seen clips on youtube to be fair but honestly very interesting films. There's a tv show now as well isnt there too?.

I know this isn't really a thread for recent shows we have watched but I wanted to mention a recent documentary I watched last night. So I watched Queen Camilla's documentary on
    domestic abuse and sexual assault
and honestly it was such an insightful watch and there were parts which nearly made me tear up because of how emotional it was. I will say if anyone wants to watch this documentary, definitely go for it but I will it does deal with topics such as sexual assault and abuse so its kind of watching at your own risk in a way <3.
