Relapse or not

Lately things have been really bad and there’s been no escape and yesterday I was thinking of relapsing with my sh even though I’m doing well with it and it’s been a few months since I have but today it’s been worse, I’m on the bus but I can’t get my mind off going to the store and getting something and I know I shouldn’t especially because I’ll be with my friend by then but idk

I’m safe
Want to hurt me… go ahead
Wish to bully me…I’m used to it
Want to talk crap about me…go on then
Want to make me cry…feel free

Hey @Rose113, we hear you. I can understand how recent events have been difficult for you, and I'm sorry that it's been really rough on you if relapse came to mind. On the road to recovery, it's common to come across blips and bumps, but it's nice to take a step back and appreciate the overall progress. Going for several months without relapsing is great progress, and you should be proud of that!

I hope that things take a turn for the better for you. It's also nice to hear that you've got your friend to support too! We'll here to support you through this difficult time, you're not alone <3

Hi @Rose113 how are you feeling today? I'm glad to hear you're safe thank you for letting us know in your post. You've done so well to reach out <3 I can hear how hard it's feeling for you to fight those thoughts of relapsing. You've worked so hard to have gone a few months without relapsing - we hear you and we believe in you!

There are some really good resources out there you might find useful to help you navigate alternatives to self-harm when you start having those thoughts of relapsing. I've included some examples below for you to take a look at. Do you think you'd be able to pick a few to help you with these feelings? Let us know what you think. I'm sending you hugs <3
    1) Snap a rubber band against your wrist
    2) Slap a hard surface - such as a wall or table-top
    3) Find somewhere isolated and scream as loudly as you possibly can (alternatively do it into a cushion)
    4) Use a red marker pen to draw or write words on the place where you want to cut
    5) Squeeze ice in your hands really hard
    6) Squeeze the 'pores' in the skin of an orange / satsuma / clementine (take care to avoid getting juice in your eyes)
    7) Punch a cushion or punching bag - consider learning martial arts
    8) Find an old magazine or newspaper and tear it up
    9) Write down exactly how you are feeling in a diary - or if you'd prefer to, just scribble everything out
    10) Take part in high-intensity exercise; like circuit training, boxing, running or swimming
    11) Flatten aluminium cans for recycling - see how fast you can do it
    12) Take a cold bath
    13) Play music really loudly
    14) Try squeezing a stress ball
    15) Look after and be kind to yourself; it doesn’t have to be something active. You could try meditation or aromatherapy oil
