I told my friend group that I’m adopted and now one of them just makes comments about it and it just hurts. She said early to not watch a show (I can’t remember the show) because it had an adopted kid in it. She also said “I can’t beat up an adopted kid”…it hurts :/
Sometimes when the people most like you don't love you, it is a hurt that can cause the greatest pain, and this pain can lead you to hate everything.

    Hey @Rose113 , I'm so sorry to hear that one of your friends are treating you in this way. Those comments are hurtful and completely insensitive. Sharing your lived experiences with your friends is a brave thing to do, and it's unfortunate that one of them isn't being supportive or accepting of you or your family structure.

    You deserve to feel loved and accepted for who you are. It's okay to feel upset and to voice your boundaries in this situation.

    I am wondering if it would be helpful to talk directly to your friend and tell her how her comments make you feel. The best way to set this boundary this would to stay as calm as possible and be specific about the hurtful comments and how they impact how you feel about yourself and your relationship with her.

    Does this sound like something you can do at this time? There is no rush as it sounds like you're feeling really hurt right now- and that's okay.

    Hey @Rose113. I am sorry to hear that you are feeling like that and going through this. How are you feeling now? Did you manage to have a conversation with the friend to tell them how you are feeling about the comments?
