I have definitely been there worrying about my future and i agree that it is worse when you are not doing something during the day because you have nothing to distract yourself with. For me, i have just finished university and still just as stuck with knowing what i want to do in the future. I used to compare myself with others and think that i should be at the same point in my life but that is definitely not true! I am now much happier knowing that i am going at my own pace and will eventually get there as well as knowing that it is okay if i change my mind. There is no point adding extra pressure on myself when everyone is different Have you tried doing something to fill your days like learning a new skill or volunteering? this is what i have been doing because not only does it keep me busy and give back to other people but then it is also super helpful when applying for jobs in the future.

Even with the small things like finishing certain tasks or setting specific time aside for my hobbies. That way I still feel somewhat accomplished after ticking things off, and have some order throughout the day.

I was a bit hesitent about volunteering because you don't get paid and I didn't like the idea to have to work for free even though it might be more flexible. I would consider a placement for a few weeks though. I'm not sure what else I can fill my days in like what skill etc. I just don’t want to sound like I'm making excuses though. Thanks for your reply again.

Have you ever looked at the open university free online courses? I used these a lot during lockdown to try different courses to see what i was interested in and it gave me something to add to my CV. I'll link the website below https://www.open.edu/openlearn/free-courses/full-catalogue

You’re definitely not alone in this even though it might feel like it, I’m between jobs at the moment and might end up hating what I’ve signed myself up to do next but just hoping for the best. I think a lot of people are in a similar boat even if it isn’t the exact same as your situation! Do you think there might be online groups for people looking for work like Facebook groups etc? I have a friend who has thyroid problems and joined a group and feels way less alone with it so im sure that there would be something for people looking for jobs to chat about and give each other motivation I think hearing other people speak about their experiences would be good. Or even a support group from your JS place maybe?
