and to still make time for things you enjoy. exams and revision can be stressful so still having breaks or time to do hobbies can be key for mental health
There are lots of methods to try out such as flashcards, the Leitner method, blurting, teaching someone else to explain what you know, writing it out, mind maps, the pomodoro method, listening to educational podcasts or watching videos, funnelling, being quizzed by someone else, and practice questions
But I want to also add that it’s so important to take breaks. I’ll share two different instances of my own to prove it.
My year 11 mocks, I spent hours on end revising. I only stopped to eat and sleep, plus an hour’s break at the end of the day. It was incredibly stressful. And… to nobody’s surprise, my results were lower than expected. I also really struggled emotionally after that because I’d overworked myself so much. It wasn’t worth it at all.
When it came to my A level exams, I did a lot of revision but in smaller chunks of time, I’d take breaks when I started to get worn out. I wasn’t as strict with myself, and that was the best option because my grades were as expected.
It’s difficult to find the balance but to anyone with exams coming up - try not to burn yourself out. Take breaks - it’ll be better in the end and you’ll feel better too.
I’d also recommend the website Quizlet, as they have really good premade resources and you can make your own flashcards as well as active recall quizzes and little games to make it more fun
