Whamageddon 2023

This is a tradition that has been running on The Mix for the past 4 years and it's almost that time again. If you are wondering what on earth I am talking about or what Whamageddon is, it is similar to rickrolling someone but it is only in December and it is a completely different song. Whamageddon is about not hearing the original version of Last Christmas by Wham (hence the challenge being Whamageddon.) You may also see it on social media because it's something that a lot of people enjoy doing as a festive tradition and it has been something ongoing for many years (before it started on The Mix.)

Here are the rules.

1. The objective is to go as long as possible without hearing Wham's Christmas Classic "Last Christmas"
2. The game starts on 1st December and ends at midnight on December 24th.
3. Only the original version applies. Enjoy the #!โ‚ฌ#%!โ‚ฌ%โ‚ฌ& out of remixes and covers!
4. You are out as soon as you recognise the original version being played.

No prizes for winning though. But you do get the glory of knowing that you avoided being Whammed. Usually I manage to get through the whole time without being Whammed but last year I didn`t even make it to the end of lunchtime on the first day. It was my duet song for the winter show at school last year. Maybe this year I might actually make it to day 2.

    @Dancer This is a great idea, very fun, I've heard of it online. Have not yet been whammed but it won't be long I bet! I have to go through 3 shopping centres on my route to college so I'm sure it will happen soon. Good song though!

    Somehow, I'm still in! I'm not even avoiding it, but every time there's Xmas music on this month, it's never been Wham. Even did it for karaoke (which is fine, because instrumentals/remixes etc don't count), but still going strong!
