Hello!

I'm excited to be joining The Mix community and connecting with lots of people - I'm really passionate about supporting other people and their mental health, having faced some challenges of my own, so I'm hoping that I can be there for other people whether they want advice or just a listening ear!

I'm 20 years old and studying English Literature, French and Dutch at the University of Sheffield. As you can guess from my degree, I love reading and learning languages. I learnt French at school and decided it to study it with English at university, and when I arrived, I had the opportunity to take another language so I picked Dutch! I've loved learning it so far, and I'm currently in the Netherlands to practice it for a semester.

My favourite books are romance or coming-of-age, but I do also love psychological thrillers - they're so gripping! If anyone's got any recommendations I'm always trying to read more!

    You degree sounds so interesting! How are you enjoying your time in The Netherlands? I’m also studying English but language rather than literature, although I often wish I had chosen literature as I love reading - Ann Cleeves is one of my favourite authors who has written psychological thrillers!

    @lunarcat522 yes I really love it! I've read a lot of older books as part of my degree but I really love contemporary fiction, especially romance novels!

    @sputnik thank you! I love learning languages haha, and I'm enjoying the netherlands apart from being a bit homesick and not being very good at cycling!

    I'm enjoying being in the Netherlands, thank you, it's a little overwhelming settling in but overall good!
