It sounds like you are really worried about the self-harm being visible @Past User. Is there anything, in particular, about this that worries you and anything that might help? We are here for you and listening to you if you would like to share more with us about this.

Also, does anyone else have any tips they could share to support @Past User with this based on their own experiences - what do you do to manage the thoughts and feelings around having visible scars? :)

It's ok not to know @Past User. I can hear how, more than anything, you just want to hide your scars. Hopefully, our wonderful community members will have some tips for you :)

Sounds like a stupid idea but if it’s relatively healed maybe you could try putting some foundation/concealer over it ? Or I know some places do “skin colour” plasters and if anyone asks you could just say you dropped a chair or something on it
Sometimes all you need is one person to believe in you , for you to begin to believe in yourself.

Hey @Past User , listening about your self-harm worries and your scars being fresh, I want to ask how you're coping at the monent? Do you need any help, support or advice?
We're here at any time you may need us, and don't hesistate to contact me if anything :anguished:

As per your cover issue, you can try putting some fresh aloe to the scars, not only will it help, but it will built a new 'skin-like' texture and you can put make up and concealer on to and peel it after

@Past User That sounds like a difficult predicament that you are in at the moment especially as you are attending prom and are feeling worried about others seeing visible self harm scars. I agree with @Millie2787 as foundation or concealer could help to cover them up. I know you can also get plasters too that match your skin colour so they blend in and aren't very visible too. But if anyone asks you could say that they are blister plasters. Also, @vicky_zin tip on using aloe could also be helpful as I know aloe has a cooling effect and it can help ease the pain of fresh wounds too. I know aloe vera is often used to treat sunburns and wounds too.
