Hi @ellie2000, I think this can mean different things for different people and can help in various ways. Telling someone else how you're feeling can help validate your experiences and invite people in to understand better what you're dealing with, what you need, and how to support you with what you're going through.

For me, I find that it helps me to stay in the moment. If I'm having anxious thoughts, I like to talk things through with my partner to offload and work through things and it actually can reduce the intensity of those feelings. He also gives good advice and can help me to see things from a different perspective, but also realise that I'm not alone as he/others may also feel that way.

This might not be the same for you though. Do you find that sharing your feelings with someone else can help you to process things? :)

Hey @ellie2000 - generally speaking, it does a lot of good. From an emotional point of view, talking to someone about how you feel makes us feel like we're being heard, and that our feelings are valid. Sharing our feelings also means that we're not carrying them all by ourselves, and that helps us to feel less isolated and overwhelmed. From a practical point of view, the person we're talking to can give us an alternative perspective, which can provide some valuable insight into the situation.
