i opened to my therapist about mum fretting n i asked my therapist about calming her down n she sed tht it not my job

Hi @ellie2000

Thanks for your response and clarification as it means we can support you the most effectively we can. It would seem that your therapist meant that they hear your concerns but you have lots of other responsibilities and calming your mum down is someone else's responsibility. You have a lot on your shoulders already but I can understand that you care about your mum and may think it is your responsibility. I hope this helps

Yeah I think they mean that it is not completely down to you to help and sometimes people need to deal with things themselves. I think your therapist just meant it in a way of not putting too much pressure on yourself. Hope everything works out!
