    Welcome to the community Sarah!

It's amazing that you want to volunteer over Christmas - it's a really awesome thing to do. Do you mean volunteer for The Mix, or volunteer somewhere local to you like a homeless shelter?

    Hi Sarah.

Welcome to The Mix. Hopefully you will settle in well and enjoy this amazing website.

I think that it is amazing that you want to be able to volunteer. I volunteer at my local gymnastics club for 1 hour a week (might start doing 2 hours if I can speak to my manager after Christmas.)

Have you ever thought of looking for volunteering opportunities on Indeed? You just add keywords of what you want to do (for example volunteering) and what area you live in. Here is the link in case you need it. https://www.indeed.co.uk/m?from=gnav-serp

If not, Salvation Army and Crisis at Christmas are always looking for more volunteers.

“And when they look at you, they won't see everything you've been through. They won't see the **** that turned to scars that began to fade with time. They won't see the heartbreaking things that shook up and changed your entire world. They won't know how many tears you cried or even what it was you were crying about. They won't see how strong you had to be because you had no other choice. What they will see though is how compassionate you are because you experienced pain. What they will see is how kind you are because you experienced how cruel the world is. What they will see is how good you are because you've seen how bad things or people can be. The difference between you and your experiences are who you choose to be, despite everything that could have turned you cold and unkind. You are the good the world needs and the best of us.” ~ Kirsten Corley

    Hey Sarah!

Welcome to the mix, as others have mentioned volunteering is definitely a really good thing to do if you have the chance, especially around Christmas time!

The website https://do-it.org/ has some ace volunteering opportunities so may be worth taking a look at it. You just pop in your address of postcode and it will show you all available volunteering roles in your area.  :)

I hope that you find somewhere, do keep us updated  :)
