Online relationships and meeting in real life

Hey everyone,
What do you if you have an amazing relationship with someone online, but it doesn't translate when you meet in real life?

Maybe somethings don't get better, but we do. We get stronger. We learn to live with our situations as messy and ugly as they are. We fix what we can and we adapt to what we can't. Maybe some of us will never fully be okay, but at least we're here. We're still trying. We're doing the best we can. That's worth celebrating too ❤

I think this is a great topic to talk about currently as more people are now using the internet to make friends and have relationships with it being so accessible. I think that depending on how bad it was when you actually met up with the other individual you could still be friends online, otherwise you might just decide you don't want to carry on any sort of friendship and for every case individually its ok to do what you want to do.
Just as @Rayofhope said, I think this is a very topical subject that ultimately depends on how severe the situation is in person.
If it seems appropriate, I would discuss with the other party how you feel, and from there decide if you would still like to keep in touch and be friends online (although I'd also consider that the online relationship mightn't be the same as it was before, at least initially). Otherwise, if you feel really uncomfortable or at risk in any way in person, I wouldn't hesitate to escape the situation as best and quickly as I can, and remove any form of contact online. If it's necessary, I'd also consult someone I trust and able to support me, and/or report the person online.

I watched a doc on Netflix I think it was called Life 2.0? That showed a couple who met on a virtual reality game and fell in love but when they saw each other face to face it just didn't work.
