The best things I ever got because of the internet were two really good jobs and a Safari to Kenya I won on a website.

I've made loads of friends my age too.
Yes I did. We first got chatting when I was going through a messy divorce, and I certainly wasn`t looking for a relationship or anything resembling one. But we hit it off straight away as friends.
After a while he met his (now ex) girlfriend, who was pathologically jealous and wouldn`t allow him to talk to any other females. Including me, even though we lived 125 miles apart, had never met and had no plans to do so. So we stopped talking and lost touch.
I didn`t think too much about it, and then one day about 2 years later I had a particularly good email forward so I sent it to everyone on my list. I nearly didn`t click on his name but then I thought, "Sod it, it`s only a forward" and I did.
Almost immediately I got an email back saying that he`d been looking for me for weeks, that they`d split up and he could talk to whoever he wanted. We got chatting again, he was so easy to talk to and eventually we ended up spending every spare moment on the net or the phone. Then he said he wanted to meet up and that he was starting to have feelings for me.
I felt the same, so we met up and the rest is history. Now we`re living together and we have a year old baby. He`s the best thing that`s ever happened to me (apart from my children) and I love him to bits.
Yeh, I have made so many great mates online, they actually know me better than most of my actual friends. They can tell when I'm not happy even over a phoneline, my actual mates can't when they are stood right in front of me and I am sitting with my head in my hands crying . . .
Also, tickets to see Eminem (great!) and trainers (ok so I lost one of them but they were still cool!)

yeah i met the guy of my dreams hehe... im in the north of scotland and he lives in surrey but we've met up twice and im seeing him again next week. been going out over a year now and still going strong. i met him by coming across his website address on a thread on the good old audiogalaxy and added his msn add to my buddy list and it went from there... :-D
Oh and Harmless is a pretty good thing i got. Hes luverrrrly hehe.
You are very, very lucky. There can't have been much chance of meeting him like that.
Generally, information when I need it, is the biggest thing.
When I first got the net, I made a few really good friends who I wrote to for a while, but we've lost touch. I tend to not have many good net friends now, mostly because I don't get chatting to people much or they don't want to talk to me. heh.
The internet has also been my worst enemy at times. It allows people to do obnoxious and truly deceitful things...
Oooooh and best of all - music.
