Well, Ford is neither French nor German, and there are a lot of them around. TVR is just about the last British car maker with any standing.

I think you mean the PT Cruiser which looks like a hearse. The Voyager is actually relatively stylish.

Whowhere, do you guys still drive on the wrong side of the road?

    (just kidding)

Most of US love british auto styling, such as the Jag...but hate the mechanics...cost about $1,200 just for a tuneup for a Jag the last time I heard about them...and as with all high performance engins...it is often.

About the whole "wrong side of the road" story, the scheme for driving on the right comes from Napoleon, who mounted his horse from the right rather than the usual left.

I also happen to know why the Japanese drive on the left: it comes from the days of the Samurai. If one were to put one's sword on one's right hip it would snag when being drawn, so it needs to be mounted on the left. If two guys with swords on left hips pass each other on the right their swords will clash -- bang! One or more dead samurai. :P

(Incidentally, there's a theory that says this is also responsible for the low percentage of left-handers in Japan.)
