Which bands do you REALLY wish hadn't split up?

A fairly simple topic, but which bands do you really wish hadn't split up? I know (well hope) that most of us are probably happy that S Club 7 have split but are there any older bands you'd really like to see still recording/touring now?

For me It'd be The Smiths (very sad I know :p Although to be honest I'm not really that much of a fan, but I've picked them seens as thankfully all the bands I'm really fond of are still together). Anyway, I know that Morrissey and Sarr have done some good stuff since, but every time I listen to one of their albums I wish they'd gone on to do more. They worked so well together.

Also I'd like to see Axl Rose swallow his pride and get Slash back - Guns N' Roses just wont be the same without his input. The Appetite For Destruction and the Use Your Illusion albums where just so good.

So has anybody got any other thoughts on any great bands out there who were cut off in there prime? (don't even bother posting if you're going to say Steps btw)

Well I was going to say Steps, but you've ruined that now :(

Instead I think I'll go with Little Angels. For now.

Loads of people liked Take That. However I was one who didn't follow them and I don't know why so many people liked them.

You want Guns and roses to get back together, come on?!

The problem is that bands split up because they cant make good music together, so if you forced to work as a group the stuff they would put out probally wouldnt as good, Cream for example were very very good, but I think its better that the split so that they left behind a list of top tunes and not that many that werent very good.

    The Beatles

What would the music industry look like today if the Beatles had stayed together?

The beatles without John? Thats just wrong.

And even if all of them survived, what would they be doing? Continuing to put out similar stuff for ever? Or attempting to move with the times? Can you imagine what they would have out out during the 80's? Thats just horrific!

    Rage Against the Machine

I would have said Fleetwood Mac but they've got back together ;)

The 80's may have been better if the beatles had gone on a bit longer. NO! Just had a bad thought - they may have been doing songs with Yoko! - Aghhh! [clears head of such thoughts]

I did mean the beatles with John, because he was shot after they split.

I'm quite sad Steps, S Club and A1 split up, because a lot of their songs were around during happy times in my life. And Steps broke up on a Boxing Day

But I suppose being "pop" they aren't supposed to be around for ages. Hey ho.

I'm glad Nirvana "split up" (if you could call it that) though

    My reputaion precedes me...

Yeah I remember Upside Down! I think funluvnchic snogged one of them. And Bad Boys Inc...i was so in love with Ally!

I wish Deuce had never broken up. Craig is truly one of the nicest men you'll ever meet in your life....what a sweetie.

Can I just add that I was very young and impressionable when these bands were out but my musical taste is a bit better these days!
