Nah, it used to be great, there's still a lot of good stuff on these boards, but you have to sift through a lot of the junk to find it!
This is a really poor topic, (and no offence to the poster), but i think its stuff like this thats made a lot of people disallusioned with thesite forums.
Again, no offense bluey, im not singleing you out, its just one example.

but after the first few posts saying that the topic was pointless, everyone just started agreeing and put down "yeah it's nowhere near as good as it used to be"
...and then people asked for reassurance it wasnt them that was mucking it up.
if you just ignore the stupid posts, it wouldn't be much of a problem anymore. it just seems like this topic is top of the board (will be now anyway) instead of near the bottom ... purely because people have replied saying the same thing over and over. you've made your point, but ive seen this in many other threads across the whole of the forums. why not make the point once and then ignore topics that come up afterwards??
just an idea, im not trying to tread on any toes or anything but it seems like you want to make it better, you do a lot of talking...now all you need to do is ignore the stupid posts.
from my knowledge of BBS', the only thing that's happening is an influx of newbies - newbies to BBS' mainly. it hasn't got worse - the influx of newbies has increased and you get more "stupid" posts than normal, and as newbies reply to these "stupid" posts, the problem escalates.
if these such threads were either ignored, or closed/deleted if they're irrelevant, then they would soon sink to the bottom and every newbie would learn quicker
