Ok, first, most women would be freaked upon being presented with an 8 inch penis, and second, whoever you've been talking to is so so wrong, and probably making up crap because theyre insecure with their own size. 5 and a half to six inches is the average penis size so you're not 'small'.

Only 90% of men, not 95%, and as its within two standard deviations of the mean it isn't abnormal.

Obviously 8 inches in not abnormal, and there are probably a fair few men with 8 inches or larger (though I'm kind of intrigued as to where you got the 1 in 10 figure!)

But it's...unusual, anyway, if not abnormal. Whereas 5.5 inches is usual.

Im 6 inches, i used to have a problem with it thinking im small, but once you start using it and you see the girl has no problem with it and shes actually really enjoying it all that disappears.

people and their girlfriends also have been shown that they systematically round up or just make it up completely, in the sense that the average 'reported' penis size is 7 inches. the real average depending on your racial background etc. is anywhere between 5 and 6.5.

this is because of implicit societal expectations to have the biggest cock in the room.

I've had a few of what I consider averages (6in) because that's the size you learnt was average, and a 5in (one of my best sex partners tbh) and I've also had a few of big boys (7-8in). Whether they were good in bed depended on them, not on the size of their dick (unless it is atrociously small-or big for that matter).
