Now when was the last time we had good snow near London.
I mean the colder parts like Scottland and places like that always get it.
But it is so exciting! :yippe: :thumb:

The last 'good' snow was 1996/7 winter season. I.e. enough snow to shut down my local schools. At the moment (in Stafford), the snow is 1 inch.

    I'm snowed in.
I live on a steep hill and although I got out an gritted this morning I'm not going in. It's not worth it. Jack knifed lorry down the road and idiots sliding around everywhere.

    Fuck it.

We've only had abouut an inch over night. Not nice to walk home in after a night shift in the slippiest shoes in the world  . A 20 minute walk took about an hour :(
Just seen on GMTV that it's heading north so by tea time will be quite bad with gale force winds...tomorrow the same!

If you don't get paid for snow days.

Lucky for me, I'm not well, and I DO get paid for sick days ;)

I can't get to uni today because there are no trains.

Rich, being an idiot, went to work this morning and is now "waiting to see if it snows again" before he comes home. There are two tube lines to get back here from his work, one is mostly closed and the other is severely delayed. I can see him not coming home at all if he keeps being a stubborn bastard.

No tubes and no buses so its an easy call for me - a day off!

I've got a good 4 inches here, its fantastic, the kids next door have made a 5 foot snowman.

I like the snow but I don't think I could live in a place where they get it a lot. To cold.

Ditto. I woke up real early and well excited this morning. Wasn’t so excited when I got to the tube station though. Hardly anyone in the office and suddenly everyone is working from home, bastards!

I’m sat here looking at the snow come down over Liverpool St, still few of us are having a snowball fight in Finsbury Sq at lunchtime. Big kids at heart. :D

What I don’t get is why London grinds to a halt when it snows. The Waterloo & City line, a line with 2 station both of which are underground has been closed due to snow :chin:

Southerners are pussies when it comes to snow, life goes on up north.
