New Year's resolutions

Former MemberFormer Member Posts: 1,876,323 The Mix Honorary Guru
With just over a week of the year left have you accomplished yours?

Mine was the same as every year befoe then: To finish my book. So far, I've come close, but...nothing.

In 2009 I am going to make a concious effort to change my life. I'm going to be more organised, my finances are going to be budgeted, I'm not going to waste time, I'm going to work my way through the many many books I own, I'm going to quit my job and take on something a little easier and without an asshole for a boss, I'm going to find the love of my life and...yes, finish my book.

Reckon I can do all that in three-hundred and sixty five days?

A doctor on TV this morning said that the way to achieve inner peace with resolutions, is to finish all the things you have started.

So, I looked around my house today to see things I`d started and hadn`t finished and, before leaving for work tonight, I finished off a bottle of Merlot, a bottle of shhhardonay, a bodle of Baileys, a butle of vockda, a pringle of packages, tha mainder of Prozic and Valim scriptins, an the res of the chesescke in de fridjedater.

Yu haf no ideer who frkin gud I fel rite konw.

Tri it f u ar in ned ov innur peesh.... it relly weked fome.

    Just to give up smoking.
    Possibly lose some chub.
Oh and to ask out the dream boat at work rather than just making eyes for well over a month now.

    Find the one.

Other than that resolutions can get fucked. Never keep to them anyway.

wasn't this a bit premature? i've only thought about mine this morning!

to eat more low fat frozen ben and jerry's rather than the full fat ones
to not let any man or woman control my behaviour due to my level of infatuation
to either start smoking properly, or completly give up
to finish this year at uni with a reasonable grade
to not get really ill again
    and
to better nurish my mind body and soul

just pulled up last years thread and this is all i have achieved:

to get all my health problems sorted (well i'm on the way to being sorted)
to do well at college and get myself into westminster (2 Disinctions and 1 Merit, and i'm doing well on my new course)
have to have a lovely flat in north west london by september (well i have a room in halls, but thats going to change in june!)

and what i failed miserabley on:
to find myself a lovely person to share some time with (and some good sex, cos i'm fed up of crap sex!) - well i found myself some great new friends, but had a hellish relationship, and now i'm just glad to have less complications in my life
to start doing 200 lengths a week again. and walking 5 miles a day... (getting there with the walking but had to give up on the swimming due to my exzema)
    to get my band together
to organise another incredibly sucessful summer picnic meet -booo!!!!! I will get something happening this summer
to grow another 2 or 3 inches (really not going to happen but i can always wish) - it didn't, but i did loose quite a bit of weight (but i put on 2 stone over the year as well)

The only ones I can think of are:

    - Cut down fizzy drinks
    - Manage my money better
    - Make more of an effort with people

    To get a new job
    To start writing again
To be more thoughtful with what I say rather than blurting it out
To move back to London by next Christmas
To start paying off my credit card.

    That should do it. :)

    Your NY resolutions should be

*Be slightly less of a miserable bastard than last year
    *Achieve more than last year

keep 'em vague, makes them more achievable!

    Mine are

    *Learn more Japanese
    *Do more exercise
    *Learn to use Ableton Live

    this is tough....

had a bonkers year, so hopefully next year will be less bonkers...

Move closer to work (and out of parents house)

Find a lovely man who wants to be with me (and vice versa obviously)
