For the Irish, I'm sure you've heard it :yes:

"the snatters are trippin er"

My dad would always say those weird phrases like "funny as a heart attack" and "as usefull as a screan door on a submarine" "you lie like a rug" But hes a bit weird and would usually (intentionally) say stuff like "funny as a screan door on a submarine" and "you lie like a screan door on a submarine"... and so forth
