    Please, just once more

Do you chew them dry, or full of water? Chewing wet sponges like that was something I loooooved doing as a kid.

    LOL.
Actually someone else mentioned it once on a different board and I was "ME TOO!!!!!" and then several other people admitted to being secret sponge chewers too.

Im pretty sure its some hormone deficiency/overload, cos i have had the same urge in every pregnancy, and also when i was going through puberty, but not at any other time.
Very strange I admit. I think its that bathwater smell that does it. i also love the smell of wet bathtowels at the moment. Usually they get washed too quickly to build up a smell, but i found one the other day that had obviously been sitting damp for a few days and smelled all bathy and it just smelled so good i just sat there sniffing it for ages. I think my other half thinks ive gone crazy.

    I probably have.

I quirte like this. I don't eat anything 'weird'.
Banana chopped up in strawberry yoghurt is nice too.

I went to see a dietician a few weeks ago who pretty much advised me to eat something like this.

Are they natural sponges? Or plasticy foam type sponges? Or doesn't it matter?

i prefer the plastic foam ones. I would do a natural one if i had to, but they dont really have the right texture.

I went through a phase of sponge chewing as a child. It's an odd but very pleasant thing :eek2: :D

Would it work if I tried chewing on my flannel? I've not got a sponge. Except make up sponges. Would they work?

i think it needs to be a bath sponge, it was always the kind of gentle scratchy texture that did it for me. felt nice on the inside of my mouth. and you kind of suck the water out of it.

Flannels are like the ecstasy to the sponge's MDMA. You know that one will give you a similar effect, but once you've tried the sponge, going back to flannels is a waste of time.

And it's a good idea not to overload on fluid in all instances ;)

lol, well i dont think i personally would get the same level of gratification from a flannel, but it might have the same musty bathy smell i like, so i could get something out of it, but it wouldnt be the hit i was after.

As a kid I did too.

On side note my sister has some sort of phobia of spongey foam. Used to be great for terrorizing her with. :D

Could you have a trifle with bath sponges instead of trifle sponges?
