Water

Is it really true that you're supposed to drink 8 cups a day?

I'm trying to be more healthy and hydrate my skin, but I can't drink that much, I will just be in the loo constantly. Does tea count?

much of your water cann come from foods unless you're somewhere hot or exercising. I think those fugers are touted by bottled water companies personally.

It's recommended, but they have recently said that there are no statistics to say that drinking water actually affects the skin - a documentary I watched recently tested a pair of twins where one drank the recommended allowance, and one didn't, and after about a few months, they tested them, and there was no difference.

I drink about 3 pints of tea a day and about a litre of bottled water on top of that. (Tea does count)

An incontinence specialist :D has told me it's a load of huff, but then again, the advice varies.

I take into account the water I get in food, and just drink when I can. I don't monitor it or anything.

I never used to drink enough, I'd have like a mug of green tea with my breakfast then not have another drink until the afternoon. I used to get bad headaches and not have very good concentration. Now I drink 2-3L a day, mostly of green tea and bottled water, but I feel so much better for it, well apart from I need the loo every 5 minutes. My skin looks clearer and as my bf says I have more of a 'glow' now, where as my skin just used to look dull! I don't get headaches anymore too which is good!

I'm happy tea counts as I drink so much of it lol. I do feel better if I've drank a few glasses of water on its own though.

I drink about a 1-1.5 litres a day. I do forget to drink though. I can go from breakfast to 3pm at the weekends and not drink a thing.

I do find the more I drink the more I need the loo, but my bladder isnt that strong.

If you're not properly hydrated you'll feel tired and your skin will look sallow, but what properly hydrated means is anyone's guess. It's not rigid to 2 litres of water, it depends on where you are and what you're doing.

My office is pretty much like a sauna, so I drink loads.

Used to drink LOTS of water, glass after glass after glass.

Where we live now, a few years ago they put new pipes in the street and messed around with the water and now it just tasted so god awful I stopped drinking water.

I'e gone from drinking it ALL the time to never now. Well I say never however I do drink water if I feel sick/unwell.

Might explain the dry skin though :chin:

You're supposed to have 2 litres a day, but that's from any source. Food has water in it, as do all drinks not suprisingly. I guess the whole toilet thing is a bit more annoying for girls though.

I'm rubbish. I often get to about 3pm without having had a drink - i just don't get that thirsty! I go through phases, right now i'm in a 'i can't be bothered to get up and refill a cup' phase.

The more water you drink the more you want it, i used to be able to go for ages until i needed water and now i can't cos im used to drinking it.
I think the rule is if you can see through your urine you've drinken enough water... but i guess if you're eating asparagus it doesnt apply
