Bush uses veto to deny children medical insurance

US President George W Bush has vetoed a bill to expand a children's health care insurance scheme, after it was passed with a large majority in the Senate.
Mr Bush argues it takes the programme beyond its original purpose of insuring children from low-income families.

The vetoed bill proposed higher tobacco taxes to provide an extra $35bn (£17bn) to insure some 10 million children.

Children's health insurance is set to be a campaign issue in next year's elections, analysts say.

Eighteen Republican senators joined Democrats last week in passing the legislation by a 67-29 vote.

But the House of Representatives, which approved the bill by 265-159, was well short of the two-thirds majority needed to override a veto.

It is only the fourth time Mr Bush has used his veto power in the course of his presidency.

Can this fuckwit be any more of a cunt? Short of feeding children to packs of dogs, I really can't see how...
Beep boop. I'm a bot.

He's used his veto less than any other president, but he certainly knows how to pick them doesn't he. Wasn't one of his other ones used to refuse to fund stem cell research? He's a cunt of the highest order.

He's only not used his veto much because for the most part the Republicans have had a huge majority in both houses.

I remeber at one point when someone mentioned a statstic of just how many people in the U.S. don't have health insurance and have no way to get meddical care he responded with something to the effect of "sure they do, there's always the emergency room.":banghead:

nothing like having a spoiled rich kid making decisions on social legislation.

Do you have any doubt at all, that were a person (child or not) enter the WH's garden, they'd be shot on sight, no warning and no questions asked?

    What, even children?

And even if it was an adult, what about warning them first to stop advancing and to go on their knees with their arms up?

Thing that I find horrifying/hillarious is while Bush is happy to let children die needlessly, he's constantly critising other countries for human right's abuse. But, in his defense, these children did chose to be born to poor families......

So a small child loses its frisbee say, or toy of some sort, and goes to retreive it. Shot.

A mothers baby crawls onto the lawn, she runs to fetch it. Both shot.

Dear god, I am glad you are not in power. LE SIGH. Go back to your trailer.
