  monocrat; your arguments for personal freedom are all very well and I whole heartedly aggree with them in theory, but you have to understand that many actions have reactions.
  
  In that, yes driving faster down a road isnt dangerous in of itself, same as owning a gun isnt dangerous by it self, but there is an increased risk of harm coming to people.
  
  Now of course I'm somewhat averse to the 'risk culture' we have where we have to rap children in plastic but, well more than anything the risk of people owning a gun or driving to fast out weighs the possible up side.
  
  To live in a society we have to work as a group, therefore we cant all just do want ever we feel like.

  I don't advocate people doing 'as they please'. That leads to anarchy and I don't believe in that.
