and i just got another one sayin...
"*so and so* says:
JoJo Johnston and michael webb are no more"
how random and slightly sadistic??? does anyone else get these??? they wont mean anything will they... i mean really... are these people 'no more' or what???

Do you only get the messages when you go to internet sites?
Is it a proper window?
i've only had them whilst ive actually been online as far as i can remember.
just a bit worried about this comment about these people being 'no more' and want to know why it was sent to my computer
Start--settings--network and dialup connections
In there you should have a connection for your cable modem or whatever broadband thing you have. Open that. Click properties.
If there is a box in there "client for microsoft networks" or "NWLink Netbios" click on them and uninstall them.
Then go to
Start--settings--control panel
Open administration tools
Open services
Check for the "messenger" service
If it is marked as active stop it and then change it so it is disabled.
Get a virus checker and a firewall thing, like ZoneAlarm.
cheers mist, i appreciate that.

Can someone explain what to do for XP?
Here's a page with some info and a guide to stopping it
It's nothing to worry about, security wise.
Enjoy,
-Phil.
Sorted it now.
I get that aswell. It's annoying but i just click it off and ignore it.
I know someone called Michael Webb!
