However we're best in infantry operations. Our dreaded Foreign Legion sweeps the board. Didn't you hear about our textbook assault and capture of Perejil Island from the Moroccans a few months ago? They fought impossible odds against the occupying forces (4 Moroccan soldiers) in an unforgiving land populated with dangerous beasts (one goat was killed during the assault) . Yet the island was conquered in minutes and without the loss of a single life. Were you watching Mr Bush?
The reason the people there want to saty british is because they have all the benefits without having to have the downs. They dont pay much if any tax, and enjoy a kind of free port status.
Thank you. You must be the first British person I've spoken to able to see the Gibraltarians under a different light.
The only difference is the sheer distance between them and central government makes "shady" deals a lot easier. But you couldn't possibly be suggesting that EVERY Gibraltan has something to do with that now are you....
And racism towards the Spanish? Jesus Christ, I thought we'd got rid of the PC Brigade.
Everybody has better rifles than the British...
Yeah, right...

You're correct. The school he founded does. ScoutSniper
The SA-80 is in fact the most technologically advanced rifle in the world second to the Soviet AM-94. The gun, when it works, is highly effective. The problems with it are thus. It is a piece of good engineering and as such has very low tolerances. If one speck of dust should get into the mechanism then it's likely to jam. However good cleaning from the soldiers should keep jamming to a minimum. When Kalashnikov designed the AK-47 (followed by the AK-74 and the AM-94) he purposely worked around low tolerances so the weapon could be used effectivly in mud and snow. It is only a small modification the SA-80 needs but the MOD wont pay for it.
The military runway at RAF Gibralter is only bad in one way. The men and Officers who walk across it to get to work each day rather than go round.
Spain asking for Gibralter back is worse than Germany asking for Alsace-lorraine back. Spain continuously breaks EU laws on their treatment of the Gibraltarians but Britain are expected by everyone to cooperate with them. It's time for Blair to grow some balls and tell Spain and the EU where to go.
we oppose the spanish government's policy on gibraltar, which seems to be a remnant from the franco era. as has been said, most spaniards (especially young people) really dont give a toss about getting gibraltar back - they dont see the need for it and if the gibraltarians dont want to be spanish, well fine.
it works the other way round too. ordinary spaniards arent racist towards gibraltarians. of course there will always be a minority who take the spanish governments policies far too literally, but then again that happens everywhere.
bullshit.
wake up and welcome to the real world - youre buying into the lies of the spanish government.
yes, i'm sure you're completely familiar with our tax reports, and i'm sure you're aware that we were recently given the all-clear by an independent enquiry commissioned by the EU.
like i said before, if you dont know the facts, dont get involved.
That explains why every Special Operations Force in the world (at least some of which could afford the modification) all choose other weapons. Real deal? Like every other bullpup design fielded, the SA80 is not suitable for military operations. It may be technologically advanced, but for real use in the field, it's shite.
Don't know if they're OBL's mates...but they aren't ours...
