    @Redemption is spot on. I fail to see how on earth it's considered safer to switch off access at night so people can't even vent or talk, which will only just increase loneliness and isolation for a lot of members at night. Often talking is what stops people getting into that state in the first place.

    I feel like whats always been liked about the boards is the fact that they were available when most text based services aren't and the fact that thats changing is threatening in a way. Like personally the only other place I may reach out to is samaritans webchat but even that is only available very limited hours which is within the bracket of the new "opening and closing times". Often its reassuring knowing theres somewhere i can reach out to at night instead of containing it and potentially having a crisis and im sure its the same as others here too

    Absolutely - night time is the loneliest time for lots of people. It’s often that loneliness that leads to a crisis in the first place, not being able to share how their day was, how they feel etc. There was a recent time when coming here to the venting threads before i went to bed was actually one of the only things preventing my mental health from getting much much worse.
