Tbh though closing spaces at night can reduce the chances of people being safe
i agree. this is just sad.
ppl who are in ‘crisis’ will be waiting long hours to try getting to talk to someone from shout. bc they take bloody long to respond to ppl.

ppl might come here in ‘crisis’ but they might feel better after posting abt what they’re feeling so taking away the community at ‘night’ is just absolutely ridiculous.
@Redemption is spot on. I fail to see how on earth it's considered safer to switch off access at night so people can't even vent or talk, which will only just increase loneliness and isolation for a lot of members at night. Often talking is what stops people getting into that state in the first place.
I feel like whats always been liked about the boards is the fact that they were available when most text based services aren't and the fact that thats changing is threatening in a way. Like personally the only other place I may reach out to is samaritans webchat but even that is only available very limited hours which is within the bracket of the new "opening and closing times". Often its reassuring knowing theres somewhere i can reach out to at night instead of containing it and potentially having a crisis and im sure its the same as others here too
Absolutely - night time is the loneliest time for lots of people. It’s often that loneliness that leads to a crisis in the first place, not being able to share how their day was, how they feel etc. There was a recent time when coming here to the venting threads before i went to bed was actually one of the only things preventing my mental health from getting much much worse.
Ive maybe been a bit funny recently but I dont know what is safe about limiting a space that is helpful. The community was fine as it was, we don't need these changes forced on us. We've had no input on anything just them decided and enforced on us. It just seems the "safety" is being the word to pass the book when really in this case it feels the opposite.
For what it’s worth I very much think the community staff are as much in the dark as we are sometimes. It’s not their fault but they’ve had to deal with everything we’ve had to say over the past 18 months or so. Given that incorrect information has been posted a couple of times now, I wonder how little they’re being told too.
IIl probably still use the community as it is still a great space but I miss the 2024 days, where you could pm each other, it was anonymous, it was 24/7 etc and we had the former mods.
I thought the different display for the boards was just testing? Whys it still the awful version? Its so hard to navigate

Edit: I still can’t post in threads by other members, only those by the mix. I think I can make my own discussions now though
@AnonymousToe a few people had that issue too. For some reason i could post throughout the entire night as could a few others. It's like they've applied it to half of the users on here and not to the other half.

yeah it is. its like the mix are forcing people to not use their platform even when its in their "operational hours".
I suspect it’s a technical problem @toffuna101 but whatever it is it’s stopping people from posting in the daytime as well
