I was hoping do the watch party, looks like that's not happening now.

I was also going to go but I woke up late. Apparently there wasn't enough turnout to do the watch parry. But I think there's another one on the weekend I think on the 27th.

Yeah, there was me and two other people who showed up and they left before we started. Not an attack on the staff or anything but not exactly the best idea to run something like this on Christmas Eve in the afternoon. Evening would of worked better but I presume they had their reasons for trying to do the watch party when they did.

I got told off for being on my phone at work but I think a one off is fine, just was on near the end of the shift, I was overthinking it but I think I'm all good.

I just wanted to wish everyone a lovely Christmas as well - even if this time of year is hard for you, I hope you're able to do something that feels comforting and remember that everything you feel is completely valid

I honestly felt a bit triggered earlier (I think it's partly just with Christmas tomorrow, I'm finding it kind of hard) but I'm doing okay now. I'm just going to get an early night and take tomorrow as it comes.

Merry Christmas community - how are you each feeling this morning? We'll be here for you all at the morning General Chat if anyone would like to pop along, and then this afternoon for our Support Chat if anyone would like some emotional support!

@so_very_tired , thank you for sharing about your older sister. That sounds like it might have felt really disappointing. How are you doing this morning? We're here if you'd like to talk more about it.

You mentioned you'd been drinking quite a lot yesterday too - what was happening for you there? We're here to listen, and a gentle reminder to please not post on Boards while under the influence of alcohol. We can absolutely be here to explore this with you this morning though, and give your feelings some space and time to be heard.

@Sian321 im not too bad thanks, just been thinking about my new job and thinking is it where I want to be yet I life and overthinking a few things about it. Not really doing too much for Christmas either, it doesn't feel like it. Also no evening chats too which is a bit harder but not as bad as I thought tbh and we have them on today so yh.

@eylah i'm really sorry today's not going so well for you. I'm here for you my favourite twat if you want to talk a bit about it, or just about random stuff as a distraction.

Hey @eylah that sounds really hard, and we're here with you. If it would feel helpful to share more about what's going on, we really want to listen. And as @Nathan 's said, we can also be here as a distraction too if that's what you're needing. Sending lots of care your way, Eylah, and hope you can be extra kind with yourself today

That sounds hard @Redemption to have your mind feeling really busy with thoughts about work. It sounds like you've got a lot of mixed feelings about it, and that can be hard. Really grateful for you being so open about this, and we're here with you every stage of the way.

And that is so valid that Christmas isn't really feeling like Christmas today. It can be a really complicated time for a lot of people, and there's truly no 'right' or 'wrong' way to 'do' today - whatever feels best and easiest.

I've been doing okay so far, I was worried about how opening the presents would go because my brother often gets frustrated and causes a fuss, but it was pretty calm this morning which was a relief. I got a few really nice presents so I'm feeling quite good right now.

Sending hugs @eylah and @Redemption - please take good care of yourselves and remember you're heard and cared about here  I'm here for all of you

Hey @Nemuritai , Merry Christmas to you! It sounds like you were feeling very apprehensive about how this morning would go, and you weren't too sure how your brother would be. And I can imagine it was a big relief then for things to have gone all okay and to receive some lovely presents too! That's wonderful!

How are you hoping to spend the afternoon?

    Hope there's plenty of coziness!

Thank you very much Sian - hope your Christmas is going okay as well  I'm going to take this afternoon to chill mostly, I received some really nice books (in both english and japanese hehe) so I'll probably read quite a bit today

ppl dont always need advice. sometimes all they rly need is a hand to hold. an ear to listen. and a heart to understand them. 🧸

Surprisingly enough Christmas is going fairly well, for the most part anyway. It's pretty much what I expected and wanted, a normal day but with a nice dinner. I hope everyone else here has a nice Christmas.

Hey @eylah that can't be easy looking back on your time with mum and the reminder that they are not here, I hope you can find some peace in remembering the moments you did have together around this time of the year. I'm see hear people are lying to you, if you want to go into this a little more, we're here to listen.
  • Sian321Sian321 Community Manager Posts: 3,214 Boards Guru
@eylah that sounds so distressing, especially when your grief for your mum is already loud today and its painful to be missing her. That sounds like such a lot to be holding, and we see and hear you. If you'd like a space to talk about things in more depth, please know SHOUT are here for you. What do you feel like you might need today? I hope you can get some distance from the people who are lying as that sounds so stressful and upsetting on top of everything you're already coping with. Thank you for sharing, and Community is here for you.

Ah @so_very_tired , that's a real relief and we're so pleased for you. Really glad to hear its feeling groovy, grounded, and normal today so far. I hope this evening goes smoothly, and you get some space to relax after your cooking
  • so_very_tiredso_very_tired Posts: 545 Incredible Poster
I believe we are watching Man vs. Baby after dinner @Sian321 . I am quite enjoying it, it isn't Rowan Atkinson's best show but I consider it worth a watch.

I'm not going to lie, I'm getting fed up of living at home and just have so much fear about work and everything

Living with a chronic illness and celebrating Christmas is something else. I barley did any cooking this morning - my mum did the majority last night. Now the after effects are kicking in and reminding me that my body doesn't like too much physical or mental activity. Thankfully I've still enjoyed the day with my family and look forward to having sticky toffee pudding later which I made yesterday. I hope everyone's day has been alright.
