Protecting your peace

I don't know about you but sometimes I can fall into the habit of 'doomscrolling' on my phone especially before bed! I'll just sit on tiktok watching so many videos but what if I come across content that makes me feel rubbish?

It's so important to protect our peace and take control over what we see on social media. So if you want some tips on how to create a feed that feels more you and makes you feel good, then we've just posted some top tips on our Instagram

But what are your top tips for protecting your peace?

Mine would be:
  • Unfollowing people who I no longer relate to or agree with their views
  • Prioritising self-care (at the moment I'm choosing reading over scrolling on my phone)
  • Following people who make me feel inspired or empowered
  • Seeking out positive news (like our Good News Friday posts!)

Note: If you’re interacting with The Mix on social media, a good general rule to keep yourself safe is to keep your profile private, avoid sharing personal information and anything that could identify you.

This is really interesting actually because I find quite often social media has a tendency to affect mood and stuff especially with 'doomscrolling' because I often have that habit myself and a lot of my feed has been mainly what's is happening in the world and sometimes seeing that stuff just makes you feel not so great. I don't normally watch the news either eventhough I will at times because I still feel the need to watch the news in case there's something in my area or anything I may need to be aware of. Mostly for me I tend to see so much, content that can dampen moods and stuff. Some of the stuff I see on the news is hard sometimes to process you know. I'm glad you mentioned about tailoring what you see and stuff online especially handy for younger people than me too as there is some stuff on social media thay shouldn't really *be on there*.

If only we had a good news tv channel or something I'd watched that frequently lol I guess.
