[TW] mentions of self harm and eating disorders

good news: i have a bf!!
bad news: he self harms and has an eating disorder

i'm def lost on how to navigate this since i'm not exactly equipped to help with eating disorders. i do really love him, but the thought of him relapsing or starving himself just saddens me. i guess he's trying to recover? but i don't know; he tries, relapses, and gives up.

how can i help him? i feel like it would be weird to encourage recovery while i'm still self harming, if that makes sense. i feel like it would be too selfish to ask for him to stop, and i don't want to put him through that guilt. i really do want him to get better because i love him and worry for him

sending you hugs. there’s a eating disorder website called beat which has information abt eating disorders etc. they might be rly helpful for you.

    https://www.beateatingdisorders.org.uk/

we’re here for you you’re not alone in this. <3
ppl dont always need advice. sometimes all they rly need is a hand to hold. an ear to listen. and a heart to understand them. 🧸

@slovie I really hope you can navigate that together. Love is not always the answer and I would recommend suggesting a help line to your bf? I have Sh before and it is a habit of a life time but it is breakable! I am 2 years clean and suggest outdoor activity and doing the things that make him happy for HIM and not for anyone else

My advice is ask him if he is hungry if isn’t maybe trying asking him to try and eat something small if not don’t force him
