Work and my work for the future

in Work & Study
Hey, I know I have been ranting on here a lot lately and I am really sorry about that. I will stop soon.
I have been thinking so much lately, I currently work one day a week at a wildlife sanctuary where we care for rescued wildlife. It is really enjoyable but at the same time I am kind of thinking further into my future.
It's also hard because I have to take so much into account when thinking about what I'm going to do because of my many disabilities and conditions.
I don't want to say more as it will be boring for you all and it's not important.

In my future I would like to work with either SEN children or something to do with youth work.
I do like my current role, which is the wildlife work and baking and I also study too. They are both run roles but also I have a big passion to work with young people who are struggling or young people with special education needs.
But working with animals and baking which are my 2 current jobs are really enjoyable and I know I would miss both of these roles if I do change my career into either of the roles I am thinking about.
I do believe that with my disabilities and conditions I will be able to do either of those job roles as I have had experience in a nursery which I know is different. And I wasn't diagnosed with epilepsy when I did that work.
It sounds like while you enjoy your role at the wildlife sanctuary, you're beginning to want to zoom out a bit more and think about what you'd like for your future. This feels exciting as well as overwhelming at times, because you have to take a lot into account when considering your disabilities and conditions. That is so valid.
Wishing to work with SEN children or within youth work sound like two such positive goals! And you are so, so deserving of being able to pursue your passions. It sounds like you have a huge amount of care about this, and something about the idea of supporting young people in this way makes you feel really alive. That's so wonderful.
At the same time, however, right now you're working within the wildlife field, as well as baking and studying too, and a part of you also doesn't want to let these go entirely. That makes sense, and I see your dilemma too. There's lots of layers to consider, and you want to find a role that feels genuinely exciting and aligned for you without having to sacrifice the things that matter!
If things could shift even a little in the next few months work / study / career-wise, what would you love to see happen?
Also, in what ways do you see your disabilities and conditions might impact upon your journey of pursuing this goal (positively and/or posing challenges)?
We're right here with you to explore this, and thank you again so much for sharing.
If that was possible sian, I would like to have finished doing my photography studies and move onto studying youth work or SEN teaching further while working my 2 jobs.
Because I am hoping to do the type of career I am really passionate about doing, but also still do baking when I can and maybe do wildlife photography too. It may be a bit of a challenge to do all these things but I do believe I am capable enough to be able to balance things out to make it work out for my future.
To be honest I think my main challenges regarding my disabilities and conditions will be my vision impairments and epilepsy as both of those affect everyday life and means needing to take extra steps to make sure there are no serious risks in what I am wanting to do, I did do some work in a nursery before and that was fine with my vision impairments but my vision issues have gotten worse since then and also at that time I was not diagnosed with epilepsy. But my medication for my epilepsy has been working so hopefully it stays stable.
Youth work will be my best bet of job choice out of the 2 as it will be safer regarding my epilepsy and vision impairments but I don't want to make the decision based on what is safer I want to base it on which one I feel I will do my best at.
