I went to my SMHP appointment and he did a screening for ADD and autism and I scored high on both of them so on the 13th may I find out what the next steps are…

I told male k I had a screening done and he just didn’t care he was upset that he can’t get one for autism but why does it even matter he self diagnosed himself with it.

I told Sophie and all I got was “oh”…

Why can’t people be happy for me I’ve spent years with people thinking this is just me and that I was born the way I am with no reason why.

My SMHP said my C-PTSD has been hiding the suspected ADD and autism and now he’s located what the C-PTSD parts of me are he has suspected me being Autistic and ADD and he said there can be apart of C-PTSD
Sometimes when the people most like you don't love you, it is a hurt that can cause the greatest pain, and this pain can lead you to hate everything.

Well done for attending the appointment. I know you were worried about this.
It seems like it's made you feel quite confused . Getting a diagnosis of add or autism isn't the whole importance its more about getting yhe right support you need!

    hey @Rose113 🙂

firstly, i am so so proud of you for taking that step and going through the screening - that is not easy, and it’s a big deal to start getting answers after carrying so many questions for so long! it makes total sense that this feels validating and emotional for you. you have been trying to understand yourself for years, and now you’re finally being seen and heard - i know often getting a diagnosis can be so so important to people as it can help them understand more about themselves and be really helpful - and as @Invisible_me said, getting the right support is also really important!

i’m sorry others haven’t reacted the way you hoped, that’s really frustrating when you just want someone to say “i’m happy for you” or even just acknowledge how huge this is. you deserve support and excitement, not indifference or jealousy. it does matter, because this is your life and your journey.

it sounds like your smhp is really thoughtful and actually seeing the bigger picture with how your c-ptsd could’ve been masking other parts of you. that is actually really insightful and shows how complex it all is, and how strong you are for navigating it!

i’m really happy you’re finally getting closer to answers and clarity. i hope when you find out the next steps on 13th may, they are helpful for you.

you’ve got this, i believe in you <3

Hey @Rose113 - I can hear that after years of uncertainty, it feels validating to get a screening and make progress through the process. Well done for taking that step and having the patience to stick with it! I hope that through this process, you'll get some key answers to questions you might have had on your mind for a while - it's clear that this means a lot to you. I'm sorry to hear that some people you've spoken to haven't been as supportive - it is a big deal for you. We're here to listen to you and support you through this!
