A goodbye from me

Hi guys,

So this is a tough one to write, but I’ve been asked if I’ll do a thread so people can wish me goodbye properly. I’ve been with the community when I was homeless, the mix saw me through that and my mental health struggles, difficult times and then my nursing journey.

As many of you may know I am now a qualified psychiatric nurse and will be starting my job as a CPN in a week. Now is the time for me to spread my wings and take all the knowledge and support that I’ve been given with me. Hopefully I can be that supportive person to others.

Everyone from the mods to the community team and you amazing community members have been a huge part of my life and I will be forever greatful to have had this place and be part of the family. So while it is time to say goodbye, I will take you guys with me in my heart and won’t ever forget The Mix.

Saying goodbye to you feels so difficult. You were one of the first people to welcome me on The Mix and I’m sure it would’ve taken me so much longer to settle in if it wasn’t for you. Thank you for always being kind to me and for always checking in to see how I’m feeling, it never went unnoticed and I’m feeling very grateful💙

Good luck with everything you decide to do and whenever things get tough and maybe you’re feeling a little anxious remember that you are capable of doing anything . I do really believe that you are.

@Jellyelephant it’s so hard to find the words right now. I remember when you first joined and how difficult things were for you then, it’s fair to say you’ve been on an incredible journey. We will all miss you so much. Your empathy and ability to listen without judgement will make you an incredible nurse.

Take care and enjoy every minute of this new chapter in your life, you’ve worked so hard and should be incredibly proud of yourself.

@Jellyelephant hey, it's sad to see you're leaving, but you have come a long way from what you have said, which is amazing. I'm proud to hear it. Times have been tough for me too, and it's pretty inspirational to me, as well as probably many other members here, that it gets better. Congratulations on getting your new job, and I'm sure you'll smash it. You're a kind, helpful person and deserve success. I wish nothing but the best, not just with this job, but with everything you want to do, and I am sure you will do well in whatever you want to do. x

Aw Jelly 😭😭😭 I heard you were leaving and came running to this post in disbelief. It’s been great seeing your journey even in my last almost 3 years modding here, I always was happy to see your name and get to chat to you and have you pop in. When I got a girlfriend I was like “oh yeah I need to tell Jelly” because of our chats about all of that previously ☠️ I wish you nothing but the best and you’re truly going to smash it. I know this was a bit ago @Jellyelephant but couldn't not say anything! So much to say, so little time. I remember when you joined and it's wild to think about your timeline of events since then.

As a moderator I've always appreciated the times where you were a voice of reason in a difficult or chaotic situation, and your ability to genuinely connect with people and somehow say exactly the thing they need to hear. You've also been a wonderful person for our more junior members to look up to, and it's nice to see you taking the talents you have for leadership and emotional support and building a worthwhile career with them (you'll make a great CPN!)

We'll be cheering for you. If you do fall into hard times, trust that you're able to move through them and rebuild once the dust settles. You've shown that so many times.
