obssession

so im new here but i need to vent and yh ill explain so ive been through a lot of shit lately getting arrested put into care and having to apply for new colleges coz they moved me an hour away from my original college choice so yh then i also meet this guy in the process and hes really nice and weve been dating the problem is i feel like im too obssessed with him which makes it hard to think about the rest of the shit going on with my life thing is i dont understand why im soooooo attached to him ive never been like this with anyone and it pisses me off because i should be prioiritising all the bad shit going on around me so i can sort it out but instead my mind is always on the guy and being worried about him than myself idk whether its my bodys natural way of coping by looking after others problem or whether i genuinly have an addiction problem with the guy also i kinda need advice about all this child in care shit how tf does it work and why does my parents still have parental responsibility if i dont bloody live with them coz i somehow am not allowed a phone until i turn 16 luckily there is not long left but idk whether ill have the money for it or not but i hope i do coz i havent spent a penny of the money i supposably recieve every week but i hope i turn 16 quickly. also my friends well fake friends found out i was in care and spread a really bad rumour that i apparently did something very intimate with a guy whenshe knows full well that i did not but that basically made me lose all my friends i only have the guy and 1 friend who i dont even talk to

Hi @marsdreamer firstly welcome to the Mix it's great to have you here. It sounds like you have been on an emotional rollercoaster recently so it is understandable to feel a bit overwhelmed. You are doing so well to reach out because I can understand how daunting it is for you to do so.

With regards to the guy you have been dating it sounds like he makes you happy and when that happens it is normal to feel that attachment as it is still very new and fresh- it's all anticipation and excitement. However, it may become a problem if you feel like you are prioritsing his needs before your own. While it feels good looking after others you have to remember that you are important too. Do you feel like he is also good at reciprocating the care that you show him? It's important for that balance in relationships.

With regards to your question about parental responsibility, I would assume they would keep this until you turn 18 which is when you're deemed a legal adult. I am sorry you had this experience- how they treated you is horrible and wrong. Some people can be very nasty for no reason, but the people close to you know the truth and that's the important thing.

@Orchid059 hey thnx for being here to support u as for the guy he shows me im worth something he tells me how im brave for fighting the things i go through and he tells me hell be here all thew way true and that well fight our problems together every morning i wake up with a smile on my face to the messeges of him telling me how amazing i am which probably explains my attatchment issues as for the parental responsibility i may just to sneakily buy a phone then when i turn 16 and thnx for understanding my situation with my friends they seem to have been fake and maybe i dont need them in my life as much as i thought i would
