What's your New Year's Eve plans?

GemmaGemma Posts: 1,093 Wise Owl
What's everyone's plans for New Year's Eve, if any? :)

In Scotland, we call it Hogmanay and it is a pretty big occasion. Edinburgh has a huge street party and basically shuts down the whole centre of town with different music acts playing on different streets, lots of food and drink and fun! They're also doing a silent disco this year too...

I've just seen they have put up a map of the street party and it looks chaotic haha

We don’t do a lot for new year lol, but we do have a buffet on New Year’s Eve.

I've also never been one to do a great deal on New Years Eve - although I would love to experience it the Scottish way one year :3

It’s so interesting to hear how everyone celebrates New Year’s!

My family and I cook a lot of delicious meals like spaghetti, spring rolls, Spanish tortilla, milk flan and jelly! We eat them shortly after it turns midnight, it’s something I always looking forward to every year! We also have the tradition of hanging grapes on top of the doors and replacing them every New Year’s Eve for good luck!! :3<3

I'm going out in London tonight for the first time! I'm usually someone who's asleep by 00:01 on new years so hopefully I can stay awake :D

We tend to have a mini buffet every new years eve and watch the TV, sometimes I'll do regular things like reading or video gaming. Sometimes my mum will put on jools Holidays Hootenany show which is basically a show that display all types of singers and upcoming artists. Then we watch the fireworks on TV. One day it will be my dream to actually go to London and watch the fireworks on the Bank while singing Aud lange zayne (I can't spell 😂) with everyone. Hope everyone has a great new years eve tonight wishing you all a lush fantastic new year's and a fab 2024 <3.

Happy New Year everyone! <3 I have loved reading through your Hogmanay / NYE plans :D Whatever you got up to, I hope you had a lovely time.

We pretty much cry every year singing Auld Lang Syne - so amazing that's it's become an international song <3
