Are there any albums your parents listened to when you were younger, that bring back good memories? My dad had a shitty little Metro with about 3 tapes in it, so we got to know them well!

No, but I've found it now! I hadn't thought about it for years until you made this thread, it's good to be reminded. I'm going to try and find the record tomorrow
my mum played madonna, bay city rollers and jackson five all the time. ha
But the one thing he used to listen to all the time, and I think he listened to it more because I loved it, was a single song...
Sally Maclennane (by the Pogues)
Xx
My dad was a Meat Loaf man. Bat Out of Hell
My favourite memories of my mum's music involve road trips listening to M People, ELO, James ('Laid' mostly) and This Is My Truth Tell Me Yours by the Manics.
Good times
Oh, and she had Pinky and Perky's Pop Parade on LP :chin:
My Dad used to listen to Queen, Love, MJ, and his fav song when i was young was 'blue velvet'
In Mum's car, Blood Brothers or the soundtrack to Peter's Friends.
Typical stuff, The Who, Deep Purple, Uriah Heep, Dire Straits, Led Zeppelin...
"and I know it's gonna be... a lovely daaaaaaaaaaaaay"
and we'd try and keep up as long as possible without dying.
my mum used to have on fatboy slim and black mambazo, haha
the very one! and the rest of that album, had completely forgotten about the ad, aw
And apparently when I was a baby, I listened to Voodoo Child a lot, which explains why the first time I remember hearing it some years later, it sounded really familiar.
Queen, Prince, Simply Red, MJ, Annie Lennox, Red Hot Chillis, Lighthouse Family, Seal and loads of others I can't remember.
Since most of us are talking about pop music, my parents are responsible for the following, and I grew to like most of them too:
- Steely Dan
- The Beatles
- The Police
- UB40
- Nik Kershaw
- Roachford
- Mike and the Mechanics
- Joe Jackson
- David Sanborn
Chuck Berry :thumb:
Simon & Garfunkel :thumb:
Abba Gold
Must admit I scored well when I downloaded Plan B the other day...
I love torturing my kids with that occasionally :thumb:
my mum and her boyfriend like to play it at family bbqs i do love them especially the orchestral bits they throw in but i think it scares the neighbours...hehe
