Well... I was doing some downloading, and have got a virus. So far it's deleted 3 Trojans, but I can't get onto MSN or internet explorer. I've changed to google chrome and ebuddy. MSN has told me that it's my firewall settings.. but they were fine before and I haven't changed them!
So, I'm guessing I shouldn't change them but then it wont let me on MSN. Help?

Try this program as well. I'm not advertising or anything, but I've found that it finds many things that even some professional AVs don't.
Oh, and do yourself a favour and stop using IE, even if it starts working again.
And, it's found 5 Trojans now. I have mcAfee (I don't like it, I had avast on my old laptop.) I am scanning it though... and I will check out that programme, thanks.
EDIT: The scan found nothing... aparantly. So I've downloaded the free version of avast.

That'll teach me for downloading haha xD

You've answered your own question there... for years, it's been the most-targeted and exploitable browser and has caused many people many problems as a result
Too many people think that worrying over trojans and virus infections is normal, and an expected way of life with using a computer...

You won't get rid of a virus by just scanning. Post some names of the viruses you have found, that'll help determine where and what is saving the infections. ALSO disable your internet as you scan, you're only allowing backdoors to download more.
Yeah I have avast on, and mcaffee off.
And- JK, I got rid of the viruses. On avast you put them in the virus chest, or delete them. I put them in there for further testing, and then deleted them straight off...
Right this is the thing with msn... I can't uninstall msn, I followed what it says to do on the website and I looked on others too. So, I can't uninstall it, but because it is on my computor I cant download it. It is very annoying.

I would still be paranoid of the viruses coming back, it could be laying dormant on your computer or your AV isn't picking anymore up. That's why I don't bother with any AV's, I just watch what I download and use a good browser.
This isn't my laptop though, I broke mine... long story... and I had better AV on there than on here.
Thanks everyone x

There is a particularly nasty virus out there atm called IS2010 or "fake antivirus 2010" and i've seen a lot of systems near enough killed with it.
And psh, Firefox Oprea
Apparently Firefox's spellchecker doesn't work too well...

Something along the lines of "Click is anally-retentive and needs to get a life"?
