My current pair of gym shoes are actually adidas hiking shoes. They are incredibly lightweight and extremly supportive. I have no idea what makes them hiking shoes... they seem plain and regular to me but thats what they called them. I actually got them off of amazon for about half price during some kind of sale.
Ebay is also great for cheap brand new shoes too. Often about half price of retail I've found.
ooo these seem like a good pair..i dont know why i didnt think of jjb sports as a store..duh..i shall go have a look in the local one
I wouldn't go for something like that. They're leather, and are basically a fashion trainer. Get something by Asics or New Balance. Here's some. They'll sell them everywhere, but this is the style you're looking for for proper running.
You want something that has the more breathable material on the outside of the shoe, this will also be inside as well. Something with a good arch support and a thick but flexible heel.
These day's sports shops sell decent running shoes for as cheap as £25 quid or thereabouts.
What sort of price are you looking at ?
edit: I like these and the idea of a gel cushion!http://www.newitts.com/product/IT023549/Asics_GEL_Enduro_Womens_Running_Shoes.htm
You can actually go to a proper running shop and get your running style checked and then they give you the right trainers for your running style.
Go to them and speak with them you can't go wrong. Be sure to browse the whole range on offer though and them all on, you'd be which ones will feel more confortable than others.
They will find you the shoe that will suit your feet and running style. Gel cushion Asics are good running shoes, when we get them in they sell out in a matter of days !
Those Rival's are Leather on the outside J with the more suitable lining inside the shoe and over the tongue. Leather running shoes are good in their own right but generally an ALL mesh running shoe is better particularly with the summer weather coming in now they are needed even more.
Sounds like what I`ll be doing when my injuries gone.:thumb:
Are you going in or just getting army fit?
Must have been pretty serious, sorry dont mean to pry though.
I totally agree with you there.Im hoping I get another chance to go back as I was way too young when I tried basic training and left.
Being a TA officer will probably do wonders for your career if you get it.
Good luck with it all.:thumb:
 def gonna go for them now after what people have said here.. these trainers are going to be my after exams present!
A bit late I know, but Asics really are the best, I have 8 pairs
You might also find you can get good running bargains from shops on Ebay, like Runaid bottles, running socks (to avoid blisters) and flat pouches for holding your mp3 player.
Result!
I scond that.:thumb:
Got mine done last sunday in MKs running shop and instead of me buying the same old pair of Asics I got myself a brilliant pair of Brooks predator things.
Im currently getting fit to go in!
What reg you aiming for?
