How is your mum/dad coping?
All my grandparents have passed away and although this is odd to say I wasn't affected particularly, I don't have very many memories of them. But I know when I found out my dad was ill I was... not determined but more resolute that I wouldn't waste time arguing, or crying. Last few months we had a good time together given me some really good memories.
I hope I don't come across as insensitive in effectively saying 'if you can't laugh then you'd cry' but I've found with many losses in the family that you have to try to find a way to carry on and try to find what joy there is to be had.
The secret of health for both mind and body is not to mourn for the past, worry about the future, or anticiate troubles, but to live in the present moment wisely and earnestly
