sorry smug mode there for a min.
i had an interview for safeway a couple of years ago and i didnt get the job, i was really crap and not really prepared for answering any kind of difficult questions like "why do you want to work here?" and "why do you think you'll be suitable to work here?" etc... and i ended up talking really fast and quietly and mumbling coz the woman was majorly intimidating me and i had a prob then and was really shy. so i guess thats never a good thing to do!
soemoen i know brought in this list once of all these things NOT to do in interviews, it was well funny. have to see if hes still got it!
It only takes one tree to make a thousand matches, only takes one match to burn a thousand trees
And all the grown-ups say is sorry, cos we got no reply.
They told me b4 i went in that they were v.hard and i cud pass n go for another Q in that section, n i ended up passing on all of them so i pretty much flunked n didn't get the job
I thin the worst interview question has to be "when have you demonstrated team work?"
Also @ university interviews they ask you really weird questions. I was speakin to sum1 b4 n they said they got
"describe a wine glass."
Like derrrrr what has that got to do with anything?!?!?
There's a girl in my mirror
I wonder who she is
Sometimes I think I know her
Sometimes I really wish I did
dress adequately, not lookin like a hussy or a scruff.
have a question/s to ask them so u at least sound as if ur interested, dont sit there quiet, or answer with just yes, no answers.
H.
i got asked loadsa hard questions for asda, like "what is a good example of customer service you have experienced?" and a bad one etc. ummm what else was there.. i dunno, too tired from bloody working there to remember!!

not from personal experience
I messed an interview up but still got the job, I went in thinking I was being interviewed for an admin post but walked in to discover they wanted me for a more technical role, I was completely unprepared, and gave a howler of an interview..lol i guess i more or less had the job b4 I walked into the interview room..lol

So I reckon before you go in for interview they've pretty much decided if you're going to get it from your application letter. Just being smart and thinking beforehand about the sort of questions you might be asked so that you feel confident should mean you do fine in the interview.
But sometimes no matter how good you are at interview they're still not going to take you on just because you're not the sort of person they're looking for. IMO the worst way to mess up a subsequent interview is to worry about why you didn't get the previous thing, so I'd advise staying positive.
