    For my 12th birthday :)

Sounds young, but I was one of the last ones out of my group of friends to get one! And I'm one of the oldest.

A better question is probably "When did you get your first mobile phone?" because they weren't really in wide circulation until the late 90's! I got my first mobile phone for Christmas 1999 and I was 14. It was a gold Vodaphone number on pay as you go and I loved it....ahh the memories. :)

I got my first when I was 12. My sister was 10 when she got hers. She told mum that she really 'needed' a mobile...

I can easily imagine giving my kids a mobile each when they're all young - peace of mind for me - plus you can track the phone's location on the web these days ... :D

Yeah, I think that's the main reason why everyone seems to have one now.

For some reason, we still have some of the early phones like Philips Savvy. (which were bloody huge)

I got loads of old phones, no one wants them .. LOL

But if you put a PAYG sim card in one and register it with a tracking service makes a poor man's Car Tracking device - useful if you car is stolen.

    1999 when I was about 15/16.

I remember my Mam and Dad hated the idea, and I was at the prime of my teenage rebellion. And everybody texted in capitals. HI HOW ARE YOU I HOPE YOUR OK LOTS OF LOVE XX

Times changed now though, my Mam has a better phone than I do :crying:

Hmm... it was for my 13th birthday and i was one of the first people i knew to have one. That was in... 1998, i think. :)

It was a motorola, but i don't know which one, and it was on a vodafone contract which was a very poor move on my parents' part... they eventually took the contract off me because i used to rack up bills of about £100 on it! Oops.

16 I think, which would have made it 01 or 02 I think. Had to have a job so I could afford the bills first.

Had the big brick of a nokia with the interchangable covers. I had black with green lightening :thumb: And snake. Best phone game ever. Until the next model of nokia where they had snake 2 and the edge of the screen no longer killed you

I always wonder about little kiddies with cell phones... who do they really have to call?
