My cities full of Banksy stuff and its great
If it's done to cover something that the painter doesn't agree with,
such as?
No, but you get the mural paintings in Belfast, which are actually quite artistic and good to look at. You can get tours to see alot of them I think, because they're entrenched in the history of the city. I like the more recent non-paramilitary ones commemorating George Best etc.
only so many blank walls exsist in safe places to paint :P
and you'll find that most writers will respect a fresh piece, but to throw something up on a wall and expect it to last indefinitely is stupid!
a real piece is art,... we have a legal wall near my place. There is so awesome work on it.
I love it.
bombs n tags can still be nice
As for covering up posters etc., I disagree with most of it but I think a lot of subverts are awesome - i love seeing them on billboards

Did anyone see that faking it, where they had some accountant or something who had to become a graffiti artist? It was pretty good.
Some of the murals in Belfast are amazing to look at, even though they do glorify death and shit like that.
As far as I'm concerned the former can have artistic merit, redeeming features and it is not always an eyesore.
There is only one answer to the problem of tagging however:
