This was shown on BBC Look North the other day, and now it turns out that flashmobbing has come to York uni: Clicky and clicky.
So how do all the people know to be spontaneous? :chin:

They're usually set up and then escalate. I saw it at Paddington Station once, it was incredible - have never seen people in London looking so damn happy!
ETA: but actually that was slightly different (the people had their 'personal music' ipods etc)
Well not really, first I've heard of it. :chin:
The thing you saw, Helen, was mobile clubbing (it used to be pillow fighting but it has evolved)...although pillow fighting is still happening, the mobile clubbing thing is the "in" thing now...
another name for them is i-pod raves...
I saw one in Liverpool street just b4 Christmas last year it was awesome.

Usually planned a week in advance.
Much like protests.
Theyre quite old and boring now though. (For me)
Facebook groups.
Yup.
My brother was in that! I saw the video, very funny.
fucking brilliant !
The monument flashmob was just brilliant, doing the conga ! :thumb:
That's coz it first happened in NYC. :thumb:
Or scythes! Where are the scythes? Farm tools are integral to all mobs. You can't descend upon the monster's castle without a big sharp dangerous looking object in your hand.
Pfft. When it becomes flash-lynch-mobbing I might make the effort.
Students, a mob and a few pitch forks. Perfect night out really.
