I read it was canned ages ago, unless things have changed...
PC Gamer have not long done another feature on it - they have had to change a few things, it is an ambitious project. They are not posting much in the way of updates due to being fed up of hacker attacks. (Yes, I know, not real hackers blah blah.)
But, they are still working on it. It is very nearly done indeed. They have removed a fair bit - blowouts are no more for instance. But the majority is still there. And the AI is still apparently spiffy. And yes, the world WILL still function without your input.
It is apparently out about May this year now, all being well.
Oh and supreme commander too
Stalker hasn't been canned - but with that many delays I've no hope it'll be any good. Supreme Commander... hmmm... anyone else find the multiplayer beta just really, really boring?
I mean, in the olden days we'd get really original games like Populous and Dungeon Keeper. Where are those things today? No, it's all just FPS or yet another multiplayer strategy game. pah.
Ah, how I loved that game.
But you're right. It seems to me the games just focus on the graphics rather than the story ...

Alot of people said that when Half Life 2 was delayed after it good hacked, Jim, remember that.
They've taken the same approach here - lock down. Keep quiet. Wait until it's done. I hold my judgement until it comes out - I knew HL2 would be good, it was inevitable. The thing is with STALKER - it is a really abitious project - WAY bigger than anything that has ever come before.
This means one of two things - it will be shite, or it will be amazingly brilliant bliss.

I've bought nearly every MOH game that's been made, starting with the original on the PS1.
What I want to know though, because I'm short of money, is will MOH: Airborne be better than Call Of Duty 3? Because I was going to get COD 3 but then heard about MOH: Airborne and I've only got enough cash to spend on one WW2 game and I'm not sure which one to get.
Call of Duty 3 was great fun, had a lot of annoying bits tho. i'd say wait for MOH, but maybe im just saying that cos ive finished COD3 now...i dont know.
plus the COD3 multiplayer aint too clever, too hard.
