URGH. I've got one coming through on the bottom right and its killing meeeee Seriously, it hurts when I talk, when I chew any food. It just painful like.
Also, how long do they take to come through?
I felt no pain when my top 2 came through. They are only half way through though and have been like that for a year. Is that normal? When will they come through properly?

I just have one on the bottom right beginning to show through. It happened a few months ago and used to bother me (not hurt thanfully) a few months ago, but now it's stopped...
yeah i got second molars too, i am glad it wasn't just me.
I think generally wisdom teeth are a law unto themselves.
I don't have wisdom teeth either. Nothing has ever come through. In fact, I don't have anything to come through at all. Nowt there, apparently. w00t.
I had all 4 removed by general anaesthetic. My doctor was a specialist operating in a private clinic, who splits jaws in half and unhinges them, to perform surgery on the larynx, or rolls out yourtongue like a tie (no joke!), damn that guy removes eyeballs to perform little operations in the eyesocket, and that guy told me after the surgery, that my case of wisdomteeth was something he hadn't seen in a LONG WHILE.
I wish I had the x-rays on the comp (just on cell phone), but they basically were growing 45° against me 7th molar, and the NERVES of the 7th molar was entwined with the root of the wisdomtooth, which were spreadangled like an anchor in my gums.
He basically needed to grind those teethes to dust to get them out. I learned it the hard way: Don't wait for your fuckign wisdom teeth to start hurting, get x-ray beforehand and see if they will cause problems. I ate soup and spinach and mashed potatoes for two weeks and couldn't speak properly for a week. I still have a cavity (it's 3 months and 4 days now after the surgery), where one of my WT was and I have to clean it with the jet of a syringe.
I have the pics still on my cell, but I basically looked like if Evander Holyfield was manhandling my left, while Cassius Clay (in his better years) was working on my right cheek.
So, either we were born wise or we'll never be...
I believe the former is the case
The gums around this tooth has really swollen up and keeps bleeding.
Its stopping me from sleeping and everything.
but not gradually for years. So many jaws are too small for wisdomteeth, and it's very frequent that they are misplaced and not coming out 90° upwards, ruining your bit by pushing them together.
Are you brits health insured? I wouldn't know a single reason NOT to go to the dentist.
Good god, I would. I've had two of mine out already, and would love to get the other two out too.
Then again, the two that were taken out were so infected (not just the gums, but the actual teeth, and part of my jawbone too) that I was in absolute agony for months before they came out, and if I could have got to them (only the tiniest amount was peeking out of my gums) I would have pulled them out myself with pliers, no word of a lie.
The operation was such a relief for me that I stopped taking my post-op painkillers after 2 days cause compared to the way I felt before, the pain was minimal. And it was good, healthy, healing pain, not horrible, eye-stinging, throbby, evil pain. Happiest day of my life, I shit you not. I looked like a mental lopsided chipmunk for 2 weeks, but it was so, so worth it.
They left my left ones in, cause the top one was coming in normally, and the bottom one was buried in my jaw, 90 degrees to the rest of my teeth and too near a major facial nerve to risk digging it out, but they've both started to cause problems now, and I would happily see the back of them too.
Anyway, you'll have problems having your wisdom teeth taken out with a general anaesthetic on the NHS unless you are having major problems with them. Even then, the waiting list is LONG. They wanted me to wait 18 - 24 months to have mine done. Fook that!
yeah, you remind me in addition to my post that 2 of my WT were infected like hell as well, as much as one had a cyst, which is just an festering infection to happen. So mine were a emergency as well.
I say it only once more: please get them checked, my father had nearly heart attack because of an strong infection, because of his teeth (pus came in the bloodstream)
You can take paracetamol and ibuprofen at the same time, but you'll get better effect from taking one, then 3 hours later taking the other etc.
Getting them removed sucked but in the long run so much better!!
This is so proper ming. Like, really.
The tooth has come through my gum and like, a gum flap kinda thing is there. I've got this big flap of gum and stuff keeps getting trapped innit and stuff.
Will this go away by itself or do I need it to be cut out?
Its proper ming. I'm paranoid its gonna give me bad breath too as I've read that they do.
ADVICEEEEEEEEE
I can't find a dentist anywhere that uses the NHS charges rather than the ridiculous ones.
How big is big? I had a flap about the size of the top of the tooth on one of my remaining ones, and had the food getting stuck under it thing. It went away on its own, although tbh I think I bit a bit of it off accidentally while chewing - tres rank.
It's impractical, but the best thing for the soreness and for the shit getting under your flap (ooh err) is to rinse your mouth after every meal, and a couple of those should be salty water (just a pinch of salt in a cup of boiled, warm but not hot water). Tastes a bit gross, but does the job :thumb:
I've had to buy some toothpicks because shit keeps getting trapped under it. Its minging. My Mum suggested the salty water thing too.
There should be something in your area that tells you where your nearest NHS dentist is, try NHS direct.
Ouch.
