If you hadn't missed me in the last week or so then shame on you, but I've had a bit of news that has been more important than lurking around the sex forum and arguing about whether women like macho men (I know, you must be thinking, what news could this be that's more important than that?)
So I just thought I would share for the benefit of those who know me in "real life" and anyone else in fact that [the first sign of the apocalypse is upon us and] my boyfriend and I found out earlier this week that we are going to be parents... and not of a sack of flour or a new puppy. This is serious shit
It's still early days yet so hopefully I'm not tempting fate but as all is well so far I thought I would share with you lovely people... since the rest of the world (or at least Newcastle) already knows. I'm the first to admit we were a bit gutted/shocked/horrified initially but we're coming round to the idea of spawning our very own astronaut/mime artist/nomad (we've narrowed down their options in advance). Him moreso than I as of course he can continue with his hedonistic lifestyle while I have to give up all of my bad habits... of which there are many as the people who know me can attest It's very exciting though... and of course abjectly terrifying.
Shocker, eh? :crazyeyes

Indeed it is. Congratulations .
oh you do give the best ego massages
The bad habits definitely died hard and fast with a vengance. But you know I'll be back on the shandies the minute I'm good to go... in moderation, of course  It's a very very very very bizarre situation which is still a bit dreamlike for want of a better expression, but I kinda like it.
Most common reaction  ... along with raucous laughter.
I wouldn't say it'll be a thesite baby; or would this make it a bastard thesite child as it has no father /un pc-ness :chin: :yeees:
:thumb:
What would the nuns say? Though I'll have to keep popping 'em out to have any chance of catching up with the rest of my school year....
congratulations :birthday:
Thankee my dear
Didn't see this one coming. I didn't even realise you were in a relationship either. Just shows how much I've missed on these boards. I must pay more attention when I post on here. haha.
We haven't been seeing each other for all that long; which is probably why. Cheers though!
When next we meet I shall have to buy you a (soft) drink ;D
I'll hold you to that!
Lea, I'd heard that drinking 8 pints of stella and smoking 40 a day was great for unborn children - and that's only to mention the legal stuff. I've obviously been ill-advised...
Don't worry about that bit.
I got together with Mr M on August 5th and found out I was pregnant on August Bank Holiday.
He's the best thing ever!
Congratulations.
ETA: Although I had known him for a couple of years first...
Sounds a bit like my situation, I've known Stephen for 5/6 years as a mate so I'm not too worried about him doing a moonlight flit or morphing into a bastard overnight or anything like that . That was just what I needed to hear anyway, so cheers, as it's definitely caused a few raised eyebrows in our social circle and definitely with family...
