How true.
Ah well... least he is gone now. Shame the US won't stop supporting Fascist Guerillas in the Columbia, but hey. What do you expect from the CIA, to be quite honest?
It was easy as just 'removing' him was it?
This from the man who is utterly against the war in Iraq despite the removal of the dictator there?
Damned if you do and damned if you don't eh? make your mind up.......
our best bet against religous fanatics in the middle east.
Sadly true.
And now he is gone!
have they ever got anything right when it comes to war ...have they ever won?
You can call them any title you like. And be LED by anyone you like. I don`t care and I won`t stop you.
I don`t want you to believe anything.
Friendly advice or a threat ?
If it`s the latter maybe you too could be a "world leader".I think from my own observations that the sugar coating is as important as the threats.
You still didn't explain why terms such as world leaders are such labels and what the sugar coating has to do with anything.
Yeah sadly, that's not really the way democracy works. One guy kinda leads us and my protests for an authoritarian dictator fall on deaf ears but never mind.
Little from column A, little from column B but mostly advice.
1) How could I too be a world leader if my statement was a threat or not
2) The 'threat' was to do with arguments about semantics. What the fuck has this got to do with semantics.
So to conclude, what the fuck are you on about?
Yeah me too. I also wish Monocrat would poke his head in every so often in whatever guise he chooses this week.
The answer is No! They have never ever won a war with out the help of a someone else. To drive the British out of America in the "War of Independence" they needed the french to come and fight for them, think for them and force Britain to hold most of its forces in Europe maintaining its Empire.
In essence, America is one big waste of time, unless Martin Sheen as Jed Bartlett is the President.

If anyone demanded that you do something that they tell you to, would you ? If not, why not ?
What would stop you from bowing to their demands ?
Would you label(?) that person "an authoritarian dictator" ? If not, why not ?
Depends if it were beneficial to me or not. But things called laws don't really afford you the choice. The person in charge, the person who LEADS the country gets to make the laws and thus people like me who do not have the power, don't get to make the laws and thus have to follow them. Sounds a little authoritarian but laws are in place for a reason. They're generally for the good of society. Note the presence of the word generally.
Firstly, I wouldn't be bowing. I would be conforming. Secondly, they are not demands, they are laws. Thus I would not be bowing to their demands, I would be conforming to their laws which doesn't sound so completely outrageous now does it?
I can label him a sausage for all the difference it makes. Labelling is a meaningless standard to judge by as the world around us is made up of nothing more than labels. As a linguist, this is a philosophy that fascinates me - the use of language. Wittgenstein's very interesting theories on the use of labelling and language go roughly like this if my memory serves me correctly.
What is the thing we sit at to eat? A table.
Why is this object called a table? It is not called a table because it displays any table-like qualities or indeed by virtue of its 'table-ness'. Table is simply a word, a 'label' that we give to this objec that we sit and eat at. Therefore all language, all names are completely meaningless as they are all random sequences of letters strung together to name the objects that we find around us in the world. They are all labels and thus to describe something as a 'label' is to describe it as a name. Thus arguing that I'm 'labelling' things, is tantamount to saying that I am calling things by their name. It is a meaningless thing to say and I wish you would properly explain yourself.
Quod erat demonstrandum.
No worries. YT is pretty ace. Search for a video called 'The Internet is for Porn' (it isn't porn - just a very funny song - so turn up your speakers).
He's obviously just decided to try and ruin the boards the same way Klintock did, and he'll be banned the same way if he continues.
So from now on can replies remain on topic, (what world leader do you admire, etc) and replies trying to get seeker to actually answer a question will be removed. I'm not going to see the boards dragged down again because seeker wants to insult and ruin the debates other people want to have.
Alright Jim - getting back onto topic, who is your most admired world leader?
Interesting choice. I'd say Anan's respect took a battering after his son's galavantings. Not really dad's fault but people will use any excuse these days to smash people's credibility.

One of my favourite personal descriptions of Chevez can be found here:

written by Cindy Sheehan
Here's a snippet:
"Hugo is an effective orator who can lecture on any topic for hours (believe me!). He is smart, personable, has a great sense of humor, and takes the time to get to know people on a human level. (He never called me "Mom" once the entire time I was with him--unlike George). I was with him three times in Venezuela and each time he gave lengthy speeches about American (North and South) history never using a single note: tying our histories together with the present in very meaningful ways. On the other hand, George Bush can barely speak when he is reading from a teleprompter"

Yeah, Hugo Chevez
Anyone who demands that the US (Government) get in line with everyone else and stop thinking they can gain oil by force because it's beneath them to share with 'the gawd damn untermenchen' gets a vote from me.
