The truth is out there man, I saw it... It waved as it passed by the window and flied in a meadow and found many hens and then it took their pens.

Ooer, I thought this was a new thread, till i saw some of the people who posted above ^

but to answer the original 3 year old question... People who constantly lie annoy the hell out of me, but I can usually catch them out pretty much every time, Little white lies are acceptable imho. Two faced people are what I hate most

Lying takes too much effort. A dozen more lies are needed to cover up the original lie, and a dozen for each of those lies too. Eventually, as you say, they get caught out.
Mind you, some people can get completely delusional about their lying, and almost begin to believe their own BS, and can become consistent. But even they eventually get tripped up and caught out.

Yes, I realised that the hard way - unfortunately.

I lied because I was forced to... I wasn't accepted...

It breaks down your self-esteem too when you lie.

An old thread, maybe, but still relevant. What I say is that, from my own experience, lying isn't worth it. I always get caught out in the end. I had only one occasion where I lied on the site. I feel thoroughly ashamed that I did, and apologised.

the interesting thing about lying is ...you have to know what your talking about to get away with it.

i know one of this countrys top councilors and he tells me ...a lot of people believe that counselling won't work if the person isn't being honest ...which is true to a degree and in certain circumstances but ...if you have sussed the person is lying ...let them continue because the lies often tell you more about the person than the truth.

What should you do then? Start a new one and get mocked there too? It's kind of a lose-lose situation.

That people get mocked when they bring up old topics, but also when they start topics and there already exist old ones...

Lose-lose system. I think this has been discussed.

Do you have to be good at your interests?

No, maybe because I feel very relaxed now, and really don't care about how well people interpret the content of my posts.

People lie because they think they can get away with it and it gives them a feeling of self achievement. Which to me is bollocks, but hey, they get caught out and exposed for the pricks they are. ;)

people also lie to get into things and out of things.
people lie to make money get sex etc etc.
lies are an essential part of being human ...
