Getting off the train in Perth on Monday I met none other than Annabel Goldie, leader of the Scottish Tories. I think we should have more senior politicians taking the train or other public transport. Then they can really see whether their transport policies are working!

Should Blair have his own plane? Maybe not a dedicated jet, but surely he can share one of the Royal squadron planes if he's in a hurry. (Doesn't he already?)
They ought to get a Bombardier Global Express. Its a business jet with transatlantic range, ideal for nipping over to see his pal George. I don't think any world leader needs something the size of a 747. Thats just a waste. And think how polluting it is to have a fucking jumbo jet to carry one man and his entourage. Fuck it, Bush should take the train!
